A Journey Into the Inner World

AYAHUASCA

At Inti Wasi Jaguar, Ayahuasca is approached as a sacred ceremonial practice, with respect for the traditions and communities that have preserved this knowledge across generations.

Ayahuasca is a traditional Amazonian ceremonial brew that has been used for generations by Indigenous communities of the Amazon. Known by different names throughout the region, it holds an important place within ancestral traditions of spiritual practice, connection with nature, and exploration of consciousness.

The Ceremony

Ayahuasca ceremonies are traditionally held during the evening or night, often in a carefully prepared ceremonial space. The experience may begin with prayers, intentions, songs, traditional chants, or other elements intended to establish a respectful connection with the medicine and the ceremonial environment.

During the ceremony, participants are accompanied by an experienced facilitator who maintains the ceremonial space and provides guidance and support throughout the experience.

The effects of Ayahuasca can last for several hours and may vary considerably from one person to another.

A Space for Introspection

Traditionally, Ayahuasca ceremonies may be approached with intentions such as:

  • Self-reflection — observing one’s experiences, emotions, and patterns from a different perspective.
  • Emotional awareness — creating space to acknowledge and contemplate feelings and personal experiences.
  • Spiritual connection — exploring one’s relationship with nature, existence, and the sacred.
  • Personal insight — reflecting on life choices, relationships, intentions, and personal direction.
  • Connection and gratitude — cultivating awareness of the interconnectedness between human beings and the natural world.

No particular experience or outcome can be guaranteed. Every ceremony is unique, and each participant’s journey is personal.

An Amazonian Ancestral Tradition
